Girls Camp Salus Populi Romani 2025
Camp Salus Populi Romani with take place at the the St Dominic's Girls School. Each morning begins with 8am Mass at St Anthony’s Church before we set out on our adventures. Throughout the camp, everyone will get to try sailing at Lake Wiritoa (weather permitting), lawn bowls at the Whanganui Bowling Club, creative tile art at the Sarjeant Gallery, and a thrilling MasterChef-style bake-off at school. All transport is provided - just remember to bring your own breakfast, morning tea, and lunch each day. Dismissal will be at 3:15pm.
On Thursday we’ll head to the beach for a day of sun, sand, and seaside fun (weather permitting), returning home at 3pm. But the highlight of the week comes that evening with our Italian Dessert Party at 6:30pm! Families are warmly invited to join in - just bring along an Italian-themed dessert to share. There’ll be hilarious skits, spot prizes, and awards for the best Italian outfits, all hosted by our MC, Fr Stephens.
If the weather’s fine, we’ll celebrate outdoors on the top field at school; if it’s wet, we’ll move the party to the Marist Rugby Club (we’ll announce it on the day). After the skits we’ll gather for Compline around 8:30pm, and then the girls will ‘camp out’ overnight at the school.
We’ll finish the week with Friday Mass at 8am (breakfast provided), clean-up, awards, and an 11am farewell.
