The annual Paraparaumu Pilgrimage is coming up on Saturday, 12 October. Further details will be coming soon.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

HOLY MASS AT 9AM

Celebrated at the Waikanae Memorial Hall (opposite the railway station) Pehi Kupa Street, Waikanae. Arrive no later than 8:30am. Drivers using the shuttle service must drop off walkers at 8:15am to ensure they park  their vehicle and are ready in good time before the shuttle vehicle leaves. See the transportation notice below.

 

PILGRIMAGE BEGINS AT 10:30AM

Men are required to help pack up the altar and clear the hall. 

 

THE NEW ROUTE

1. Follow the Waikanae River to Otaihanga Domain, lunch here at approx. 12pm.

2. Otaihanga Domain to MacLean Park, Paraparaumu Beach, same as original route (break here).

3. Maclean park to the Statue of the BVM via Raumati Beach. 

 

DESTINATION

Our Lady of Lourdes Statue, Tongariro Street, Paraparaumu.

Arriving at the Statue at approx. 4:30pm with prayers finishing at approx. 5pm

 

WHAT TO BRING

Water, lunch, snacks, walking shoes, raincoat, hat, rosary beads, friends, a generous spirit and an enduring singing voice.

 

TRANSPORTATION

Arrange your own transport to Waikanae.

Drivers who wish to leave their vehicle at the end of the pilgrimage can make use of our shuttle service from Tongariro St to the Waikanae Memorial Hall. Drivers must ensure they are ready to be transported by 8:30am. Those who arrives late and miss the shuttle vehicles will need to make their own arrangements to collect their vehicle after the pilgrimage. The last shuttle van will leave the Statue at 8:45am.

 

JOINING THE PILGRIMAGE LATER?

Pilgrims can join the pilgrimage group at Otaihanga Domain (12-1pm), Paraparaumu Beach (approx. 2:15-2:45pm) and Raumati Beach (approx. 3:30pm) NB: there is no stop here.

 

A SUPPORT VEHICLE WILL ACCOMPANY THE PILGRIMAGE FOR PILGRIMS REQUIRING ASSISTANCE.

THERE ARE TOILETS AT EVERY STOP.

1. The Reign of Christ the King in New Zealand.

2. The special protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary over all our faithful, especially for the unborn and the elderly.

3. Protection from Communism and all dictators.

4. For the return of all to the Traditional Latin Mass and the Faith of all times.

5. The conversion of sinners and perseverance in our Catholic Faith.

6. The triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in New Zealand.
