Quasimodo Ceremonies, 12 April 2026
“Quasimodo geniti infantes…” — during the pontifical Mass in Ruffec, surrounded by around forty priests, brothers, and seminarians, Bishop Alfonso de Galarreta clothed six young women with the habit of the Sisters of the Society of Saint Pius X, while one novice pronounced her first vows and two professed sisters made their perpetual vows. The 122 religious sisters present joyfully surrounded their youngest members.
On the same day, at the novitiates in Browerville (United States) and Pilar (Argentina), eight novices pronounced their vows and two postulants received the religious habit, bringing the number of professed sisters to 226 and the number of novices to 20. Deo gratias! (Thanks be to God!)
Truly an international congregation, among the sisters at these ceremonies were 6 French, 6 Australian, 3 American, 1 Chilean, 1 Mexican, 1 Polish, and 1 South African.
Giving thanks to God for these vocations, let us pray that He may send many more to this beautiful congregation of religious sisters founded by Marcel Lefebvre.
